The Scheme With Klaue

Once upon a time, Erik understood something important: Wakanda's golden gates would never simply open for a stranger who walked up and knocked politely. If he wanted to get inside, he would need a key. Not a key made of metal — a key made of a very clever plan.

He found his key in a man named Ulysses Klaue.

Klaue was a smuggler, the kind of man who had spent years stealing things that did not belong to him. Long ago, he had stolen a chunk of precious vibranium from Wakanda itself, and Wakandan agents had been hunting him ever since. Klaue loved to boast about that old heist, telling the story again and again as if it made him some kind of hero. He never once guessed that a real Wakandan prince was sitting right beside him, listening quietly to every single word.

Erik teamed up with Klaue for a bold plan: a daring nighttime heist at a museum, where they slipped inside and took an ancient Wakandan artifact right off its stand. It was risky and clever, and it worked perfectly. Klaue was thrilled. He trusted Erik completely now.

And then Erik did something Klaue never saw coming.

He turned him in.

Erik delivered Klaue, captured, to a secret meeting arranged in South Korea, because he knew exactly who would come to collect such an important prisoner: Black Panther himself, the hero known as T'Challa. Along with T'Challa came a clever spy named Nakia and a fierce, loyal general named Okoye.

When they all arrived, Erik revealed the secret he had been carrying his whole life. He was not just some stranger. He was a lost prince of Wakanda — T'Challa's own cousin, blood of the same royal family.

Everyone froze in shock.

Then chaos broke loose. Cars skidded through the busy streets. Alarms wailed. In all that noise and confusion, Klaue slipped free and vanished into the night. It was loud, and it was messy, but thankfully nobody was seriously hurt. And for Erik, it was exactly the kind of trouble he had been hoping for.

Erik was not finished, though. He tracked Klaue down a second time, all the way to a city called Busan, moving quietly through crowded streets and busy markets until he found him. And this time, Erik made sure Klaue could not escape again. He carried him back toward Wakanda's border like a grim and terrible gift — proof, in the only language Wakanda's guards would understand, that he was capable, determined, and not to be underestimated.

It worked.

At the border, a proud warrior named W'Kabi, leader of the Border Tribe, stared in complete disbelief. For years, Klaue's crimes against Wakanda had gone unanswered. Now, finally, here was someone who had brought him to justice.

The great barrier shimmered and parted. And Erik — N'Jadaka, son of N'Jobu, forgotten prince of Oakland — walked through Wakanda's gates for the very first time in his entire life.

Can you imagine how that must have felt? After all those years of bedtime stories, after all those years of wondering if any of it was even real, Erik was finally standing inside the kingdom itself. He saw towering skyscrapers built from gleaming vibranium. He saw sleek maglev trains gliding silently through the hills. He saw technology more advanced than anything he had witnessed anywhere else on Earth.

He was home. Or at least, it looked like home — and felt, for one brief moment, like everything his father had promised him it would be.

But Erik had not sailed across an entire ocean, and fought his way through years of danger, just to admire the view. He had one purpose, and one purpose only: to challenge his cousin T'Challa for the throne of Wakanda itself.

And Wakanda still honored one tradition above every other — an old and sacred custom that allowed any member of the royal bloodline to make that challenge. It would happen at a roaring, misty place called Warrior Falls, where the water thundered down into the mist and every king of Wakanda before him had once proven their strength.

The crown of Wakanda was about to be tested like never before.

Sleep now, and imagine that thundering waterfall, waiting quietly in the dark for the next chapter to begin.
